Turkey | October 2015 | Day 1

ASOS socks

Perhaps you guys already know this, but I'm (almost) always late on sharing my travel photos, mainly because I always take an insane amount of photos when I'm travelling and there are just too many for me to get through the moment I come home, and by the time I have some capacity to go through the photos, it's usually one season later, and it's totally irrelevant to the current matters anymore. Hence, since I'm already late, why not just be even later. That's why I usually post my travel photos one year later, and I usually try to post them on the same dates they were taken the previous year (also makes my blogging schedule way easier). So... Turkey 2015 travel diary - here we go!

Last October, my mum and I decided to go to Turkey for a short vacation (8 days ish, if i didn't recall incorrectly). We visited a travel fair at MBS and signed up for a tour group. The package was way less expensive compared to tother european countries, and we have not visited Turkey previously so we thought, why not? (other than the fact that there was a bombing incident which happened there a couple of weeks before we went). Lost a day on the flight, as usual, because (I think) that's how 90% of tours work. By the time we reached Turkey, it was pretty late in the day and we just drove a couple of hours straight to the hotel to chill for the night, and that's about it!

p.s. the Nestlé dark choc bar was so good, I bought at least 5 more during the trip and brought more back with me to Singapore!

Blouse (XS) | Zara
Jeans | Korea
Shoes | Aldo (WAENIA)

This top. Ahh. Where do I start. First of all, (and most importantly) the material - it's quite a special one - somewhat like a cross between knit, crepe and jersey. Whatever it is, it's hella comfy and I love it. I love the way it falls over the body, the perfect v neck, the not-too-long sleeves and the slight swing cut. Also love it that I can tie the necktie whatever way I like.

Side note, these heels are pretty comfy - we walked quite a fair bit this day - and for a new pair of shoes, there were only minimal rubs to the back of my feet. I love everything about this pair of heels, except one - I wished it was higher! 10/10.5cm would have been perfect.

Also, shall we take a moment to appreciate the gorgeous buttons one of the latest additions to my wardrobe. This Eleven Paris shirt (via Robinsons Heeren) is simple but with lots of beautiful little details, just the kind of shirt I like. Eleven Paris has been one of my favourite labels ever since I first shopped them in  Montpellier. So glad Robinsons carries it now!

Layers | Black & Blue

Blouse (XS) | Mango
Vest (XS) | Zalora
Skirt (9-10 years old) | Zara Girls
Boots | Topshop

I've really gotten a lot into wearing navy and black together and have been layering them in tons of ways. This navy blouse is a different kind of classic - with the button placket going halfway down the shirt, and the fabric (viscose) is just crazy comfortable. It looks great on it's own with trousers and I thought I'd pair it slightly differently tucked into my favourite chiffon skirt here. It's so difficult to find chiffon skirts that fit me well, I keep going back to this almost-5-years-old skirt. I desperately wish to find another black pleated skirt so I can stop abusing this one so much!

Got this sterling silver necklace in a little boutique in Seoul and I absolutely love it. The chain it came with was too shiny so I went to the beads/accessories shop at Jurong Point and bought 5m of sterling silver chain to make a new chain for this necklace. (That shop is amazing, anyone living in the west of SG and loves making accessories should definitely check it out!)

p.s. please pardon the bruises on my knee

Korea | March 2016 | Day 8 | Dumplings & Back Home

COS black long jumper | Zara Girls striped sweatshirt | All Saints leather jacket

Didn't do much on the last day, having a flight to catch. Wandered around the neighbourhood and found this really lovely little dumpling place (apparently pretty popular with locals too) in a back alley. A guy giving out flyers on the main road brought us in and initially, we wanted to escape and make a detour to walk away but I'm so glad we didn't. Seriously yummy dumplings! Loved the filling.

And also, this was my airport outfit. I don't wear leggings without tops that wouldn't cover my bum. really wanted to go for a striped sweatshirt and leather jacket look but didn't have a chance to the entire trip so I had to make it work on the last day. This super soft striped sweatshirt was too cropped to cover my bum, so I layered it with a longline jumper underneath. A light grey one would be perfect but I only had a black one with me then!

Mix it up | all black everything

Cardigan (S) | COS
Skirt (UK2) | ASOS Petite
Top (XXS) | Banana Republic Petite
Boots | Topshop
Bag | Whistles

When I found this cardigan in the sale last season, I almost squealed. It all started because someone in the store was trying it on and it looked super cool, so the moment she put it back on the rack, I reached for it immediately.  The top half is super chunky, with lightweight flowy chiffon as the bottom half. Best of all - it has pockets. COS never fails to surprise me! I sometimes imagine myself doing a little dance in this cardigan because it moves so nicely with my movements.
